Choosing a Window or Door Screen Contractor:

Screen doors can be as custom as the doors they are installed on. Screen doors and screen door companies can offer you a variety of screen door options to fit your project, but first it’s good if you have an idea of what you’re trying to accomplish. Keep bugs out? Keep a flow-through breeze and air moving? Add functionality to a set of French Doors? If you are purely trying to keep bugs out a traditional screen door may do the trick. If you’re looking to keep bugs out, let breezes in, while impacting your design aesthetic minimally, then you may want to move to a retractable screen door. Screen door contractors may choose to specialize in one over the other or they may offer both. Key things to look for; how long has the screen door contractor been installing the traditional or retractable screen doors? What warranty do they provide outside of the included product warranty? What brand are they installing and does that brand offer the options you are looking for? Keep in mind frame durability, care, and maintenance. Work through these questions and you’ll be on your way to a breezier home. Quick Tip: If you install new brass, bronze, or copper window screens in an older frame made of aluminum, the screen will begin to corrode where the two metals will touch. Newer powdered coated aluminum and vinyl-coated fiberglass are rugged materials that no will longer rust or corrode like their predecessors.
