Choosing a painting contractor:  When selecting a painter for your home or business, consider the type of work you need done - interior or exterior, new construction, remodel, updating, or maintenance. Some painting contractors have specialties that may better meet your needs. Also consider the prep work required for previously painted surfaces. Proper preparation including pressure washing, scraping, caulking and priming may be needed to insure a lasting finish. Be sure to get detailed estimates of costs and completion dates from more than one painter before making a decision.  All contractors on this site are licensed and bonded, but should you use another contractor, be sure to verify their Washington State Contractor's License.

Quick Tip:  Cheap paints have a higher percentage of solvents and less pigment and resins. High quality paint can have 50% more pigment and resins than the cheap stuff. This means that most of what you are applying with cheap paint is water or mineral spirits which evaporate and leave little pigment behind. So painting with high quality paints can actually save you money as they usually contain a higher concentration of pigments cutting the number of coats required and create a more even finish that is more durable.
